Is it normal for my 7-month-old not to have teeth?

My baby is 7 months old and still has not cut a single tooth. Is this normal?

Yes. Most children get their first tooth at 6 months, but sometimes that initial pearly white doesn't appear until the age of 1 or even older. As with other growth and development stages, the rate at which teeth appear varies from child to child - and the sequence of eruption can also vary. However, for most children, the two lower incisors will erupt first, followed a month or two later by the two upper central incisors, and then the four lateral incisors. The four molars follow shortly after and then come the pointed canines and the second baby molars. Your child will possess his full mouthful of 20 teeth sometime between his second and third birthdays.
